The virtual tour of the old building was originally meant to be realtime 3d and multiplayer. It was codenamed 'Project Aleph'... but reality set in and now I'm building the tour in an easier, more practical way, with the same panoramic tools that I've used for Panoramic Worlds.
The virtual tour is being developed using a variant of photogrammetry.
Hundreds of high-resolution reference photos captured before the closing of the building, serve as reference so that I can create a digital replica.
Here are some example renders of the 3d sanctuary, aged to look like they were taken on an old film camera. These images are entirely computer-generated:
As you can see, this is a reasonably detailed replica of the original location, but cannot and does not capture every detail.
